Unofficial management app for FreeNAS

NOTICE: I do not plan to maintain this app anymore. Ill leave it up for as long as it still works with a recent FreeNAS/TrueNAS, but dont expect any changes/improvements/bugfixes.FreeNAS Manager is an unofficial management app that can be used to monitor and, to some degree, control a FreeNAS server. It is tested and working on FreeNAS 9.2, 9.3, 9.10 10, and 11 (see below for version-specific notes).Features:- View basic server info (IP, version etc.)- View volumes and their storage space status- Initiate scrub on volumes- View datasets and their storage space status- View jails and their status (running, IP, autostart)- Start/stop jail - Reboot, shutdown and wake (Wake on LAN) server- HTTPS support - including for selfsigned and/or invalid certificates (checkbox in settings)- Button for opening Web GUI in browser- Support for multiple servers- Open jail IP address in browser- View disks- View number of available updates and apply them- View/start/stop plugins- View and run cron jobs- View and run rsync tasks- View AlertsThe API of FreeNAS 9.2 (and earlier) is different, so there are a couple of limitations when using that version:- The server version isnt available, so it is just shown as 9.2 or earlier.- Jails cant be started/stopped- Volume storage is not the sum of all datasets. It is the same on the Web GUI.On FreeNAS 9.10 starting and stopping a plugin currently doesnt work, which is an bug in FreeNAS. I have reported it and will keep an eye on their progress towards fixing it.Support for FreeNAS 10 (Corral) is limited right now, so only overview, volumes, disks and power control is available. Privacy information:This app does not under ANY circumstances contact ANY other server than the one you provided in settings. In other words: Your password (and all other information) is safe - even from me. There are NO ADS - nor will there ever be.Open source? Not yet, but I am strongly considering open sourcing this app. Dont hesitate to contact me If you have any problems, suggestions or comments.Have fun :)Support for the new 2.0 REST API, resulting in support for TrueNAS Core/Scale 12.0 :)

Buggy. Crashes opening disk menu, and most other menus are blank. Working with a fresh install of freenas 11.3.

James van Kessel

Doesn't show anything, just blank. Terrible app

Nothing as simple as a save button when adding a new server. The only way I could get to save the current was to use the option menu to add another one then trash the next new one. It should be so silke there is no way I'm missing how to save, but I am. App breaking oversight.

Completely useless!

Looks great and what is there works well. Personally I lament that all the diagnostics are missing, e.g. I can't check on disk temperatures or similar, but I suppose everyone will always have a "favorite" missing feature.

I'll give it 5 stars for having no ads. But, update it to work with truenas scale, please. Disregard, it DOES work with scale. Very nice app. Looks great!

Eric Mcknight

Good please add 2 Factor authentification because i use on my truenas and i cant log in

App used to work fine with freenas. With update to truenas, app does not work anymore. Please provide support with truenas for this paid app. Update : Thanks for the quick response. After selecting 11.2+ in settings the app communicates with truenas.

App crashes when selecting disk

Has worked very well for freenas multiple versions in the past few years. Power controls (WOL, reboot, power off) worked extremely well so far. I moved on to truenas core since freenas is deprecated. Power off control stopped working.
